The Auto Transfer plugin automatically copies assets from one storage location to another based on flexible rules such as format type, file path, file name, or source storage. Triggered by a webhook event, this plugin runs instantly when new files are uploaded or ingested into iconik—enabling seamless, automated transfers across environments.

This plugin is ideal for workflows where footage needs to move dynamically between cloud and local storage, such as syncing editorial proxies to a local SAN or archiving high-resolution originals to the cloud.

Key Features:

• Destination Storage (Required) : Select the target storage to receive the copied file. If the asset already exists in that storage, the transfer is skipped.
• Watched Formats (Optional) : Restrict transfers to specific iconik-defined format types, such as ORIGINAL, PPRO_PROXY, etc. Defaults to all formats if not specified.
• Watched Storages (Optional) : Define which source storages to monitor for activity. Defaults to all storages.
• Watched Directory Paths (Optional) : Only triggers transfer if the file’s directory path includes one of the specified values.
• Watched File Names (Optional) : Only triggers if the filename contains one of the defined substrings.
• Exclusions:
  • Excluded Directory Paths (Optional) : Prevents transfer for files in specific folder paths.
  • Excluded File Names (Optional) : Skips transfer for files with specific naming patterns.
  • Excluded Storages (Optional) : If the asset already exists in one of these storages, it will not be transferred again.

Behavior Notes:

• The plugin copies files without removing them from the original storage.
• Webhook-based execution ensures immediate action upon upload or ingestion.
• Metadata, permissions, and asset visibility are governed by the collections and storages the asset is associated with, ensuring proper access controls remain intact.

Local-to-Cloud Editorial Pipeline
When an editor finishes work and exports a PPRO_PROXY to local storage, this plugin immediately transfers it to the cloud for remote review and collaboration.

Cloud Ingest to On-Prem Backup
Files ingested into iconik’s cloud storage as ORIGINAL formats are automatically transferred to a secure, on-prem archive for redundancy or local editing workflows.

Rule-Based Storage Routing
Only assets dropped into /projects/2025/clientX/ with the format type ORIGINAL are copied to shared team storage, while proxies remain on local fast-access drives.
