Roundtable 4:
Cloud for media workflows - what's next?
This was the fourth session of our roundtable discussions on Wednesday February 10th. We discussed the future of cloud in media workflows. With people still working remotely due to the pandemic, the high demand for new content continues to grow. Media and post-production companies are creating more data and the need to archive and access materials remotely continues. What does this mean for storage? While some companies may require a refresh of their on-prem storage, some are continuing the move to cloud, and most require a hybrid of both on-prem and cloud. What the new work-from-anywhere reality has generated is an increased need for unified deployment architectures and the importance of clear analytics.
What is being stored where and for how long? How are you accessing and organizing the data? Do you have a clear overview of what you have? Is cloud really ready for business? What are the benefits and drawbacks of cloud?
